I went beyond the current low nickel food lists that were filled with sugars, starches, and gut-harming grains to combine the low nickel diet with therapeutic diets: the low FODMAP diet, mediterranean diet, low carbohydrate diet, and the GAPS diet (a gut healing protocol). I did this to make it as gut-healing and health promoting as possible with the philosophy that healing the whole is a superior strategy to trying to address just the part, as we often do in medicine.
